| The
Leeuwin Naturaliste Park runs for 120km along the coast of Western
Australia from North of Margaret River at Cape Naturalist to the
South at Cape Leeuwin.
The
area is full of caves and sink holes and combines a scenic coast
with wildflowers and tall timbers of Karri and Jarrah forests.
The
Western coast contains prestine beaches and on many of these you
can frequently be the only one around.
The
ocean is rich in marine life with limestone reef and granite outcrops.
Underwater vegetation is primarily kelp and accompanied by minor
coral formations.
Several
boat accesses are available. The weather quickly changes. The ocean
floor gently slopes out toward the continental shelf and it doesn't
take long in a boat to find deep water.
The coastal
landscape is interposed with rugged natural cliffs, and isolated
beaches.
Wineries are
a major attraction. You could be within the Margaret River Wine
Region for weeks without being able to visit all of the local wineries.
