Rogaining first invented by the "Hash House Harriers" creates a safe contained form or Orienteering inside a restricted area.

Each competing group navigates through a course to find key objects to gain points. Then they find their way back to a central drinks table where they can compare points and exchange maps. At this stage a “Well-Being”check is done to ensure that everyone has returned and is healthy.

The course is set up in a block of four units, each unit has its own map. The groups navigate around one unit at a time returning to the central meeting point at it's completion, then they exchange maps and go onto the next unit.

The central meeting point stimulates competition between groups as they compare points and key features found.
